My Lupines by Diction

Name:  Whisper
Abilities/Magic:  Healing
Personality:  Whisper is my longtime internet persona, often called WhisperWolf. More to come
Backstory:  Still to come.
Lupine History: A gift from manajaq! 7-18-2006
Name:  Hanabi
Abilities/Magic:  Inconsistent ability to change colors.
Personality:  Hanabi is quiet and confident. She rarely voices her opinion out loud, but others around her seem to know what she would approve of.  She is very patient, and can wait a very long time for her plans to come to fruition.  She has been practicing her color changing ability in private, but is still not able to control it as she would wish.
Backstory:  Hanabi slowly looked left and then right once again before finally deciding it was safe to cross the path.  She picked up a stray branch and used it's leaves to wipe any traces of her trail from the dirt.  Carefully she picked her way across the rocky cliff side and down to the stream below.
She had been traveling for days now, and was exhausted.  She had eaten a scrawny lizard for breakfast, but her stomach ached for more sustenance.
Ever since the volcano had errupted, driving her pack apart, she had been searching for them.  Somehow, though, she knew that her life could not be as it was when Birdi Yuy and the Ookami no Hitomatome pack had ruled a small volcanic island.  Then she had been one in a multitude of powerful Hokkaido wolves... now she was a lone lupine, dependent on herself for survival.
She only had one fear now, that someone would recognize her for what she was.  She must assimilate into a small lupine pack and give no one a reason to question her.  She had gladly accepted the help of Winter's pack for a time... but she had to keep moving.
A clearing parted before her, and Hanabi peered through the brush to see what it  contained.  A lone human woman sat, arms draped around a boulder, weeping.  Before Hanabi could duck out of site, the woman swung around and stared into the lupines eyes.  A knowing look crossed her face.
Without a thought, Hanabi stepped into the clearing.  She had an uncontrollable urge to join this woman on a quest for... she knew not what.
Lupine History: Originally owned by Birdie Yuy. Won by Winter in the Zodiac Contest (2nd place prize). I bribed her away, having come in thrid in the same contest. Thanks Winter!
Name:  Chispa
Abilities/Magic:  ?  none known
Personality:  Chispa is the spanish word for sparkle, and Chispa does that in abundance.  She is exuberant, and energetic; joy radiates from deep in her soul, and flows into those around her.  She has no thought of the future or the past, so not much is known about her.  She asks unending questions.
Backstory:  Since Chispa cannot seem to tell much about her past, we often like to tell the story of how she came to be a part of our pack...
Hanabi and I had been exploring the deep waters of the coast.  It had been rumored that a seapony was seen there with a new sgene, striped coat.
As we were sharing a large pair of binoculars, a sudden noise startled us.  Sadly, I dropped the binoculars into the water and never did find them again... but there, cavorting in the water, was a silly lupine.  Swiftly she swam toward us.  As there was no beach at this part of the coast, Hanabi and I attempted to swing a rope around the frolicking creature.  Finally Hanabi succeeded where I failed, and we wrangled the lupine onto the stoney shore.
Immediately the lupine shook rigorously, soaking Hanabi and me, and then began to speak so rapidly that I thought she was speaking a different language!
Soon I learned that she just spoke that way normally, and had an unceasing amount of questions for us, though she didn't seem to pay attention to the answers we gave!  Patiently Hanabi calmed her down and we discovered that she called herself Chispa... but that was all that she would tell us of herself.
Since that time we have learned that she loves swimming, and digging; her favorite food is french fries; and she cooks really well!  I guess we will find out more about her the longer she stays.  She definitely brings us joy, though!
Lupine History: Bought from a rush.
